Privacy Policy — Image Hover Zoom
LAST UPDATED: 2026-07-05
Image Hover Zoom is a free browser extension. This policy covers the extension itself and describes what data it collects: none.
Data collection
Image Hover Zoom does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any user data. It has no server. Specifically, it does not:
- Collect personal information, browsing history, or page content
- Send any data to the developer or to any third-party service
- Use analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind
- Set cookies or use third-party services
- Require an account
Data handled locally
To do its job, Image Hover Zoom reads the images (and image links) on the pages you visit, in order to find and display the full-size version in a preview overlay. That processing happens locally in your browser; nothing is sent to the developer, sold, or shared. The same data type ("website content") is declared on the extension's Chrome Web Store privacy disclosure.
One thing to understand about how previews load: to display a full-size preview, your browser fetches that image from the website's own image server (or its content delivery network) — the same request your browser would make if you clicked the image yourself. Those requests go to the site you are viewing, not to us; the extension adds no tracking to them and never sees them again after the image renders.
Local storage
Any settings Image Hover Zoom needs (the on/off toggle, sites you
pause, sites you add) are stored locally on your device using the
browser's built-in extension storage (chrome.storage). This
data never leaves your browser and is deleted when you uninstall the
extension.
Permissions
Image Hover Zoom requests only the minimum browser permissions required for its single purpose. Each permission's use is described on the extension's Chrome Web Store listing. No permission is used to read or transmit data beyond what the feature visibly does. Sites beyond the built-in list get access only when you explicitly enable them from the popup.
The hub website
Everything above describes the extension, which ships zero telemetry — always. This website (yonasol.com) uses Google Analytics to count page visits. That is standard site analytics, disclosed here, and is never extension behavior.
Changes
If a future version ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the extension's store listing data disclosures will be updated to match.
